Yes β this is the correct screen, and the church theme is active. π
Your site already has the main structure we planned:
About | Ministries | Children | Sermons | Gospel Library | Events | Prayer | Contact | Give
The next step is to build the actual pages behind those menu buttons. Right now, some of them may lead to βPage Not Foundβ because the pages haven’t been created yet.
Step 1 β Exit this Customizer
Click the X in the upper-left corner.
Then you’ll return to the WordPress dashboard.
Step 2 β Create the church pages
On the left side of WordPress, click:
Pages β Add New Page
We’ll create these pages:
- About Us
- Ministries
- Children
- Sermons
- Gospel Library
- Events
- Prayer
- Contact
- Give / Online Tithing
And we’ll make the Children and Gospel Library pages special:
Children
- Children’s Bible lessons
- Coloring pages
- Printable activities
- Bible games
- Children’s videos
Gospel Library
- Chick Publication tracts
- PIX Christian comics
- Gospel resources
- Printable/downloadable materials
- Viewing pages for the publications
For the Chick and PIX material, we’ll structure the pages so visitors can view the publications on the website, rather than simply dumping files into the page.
Step 3 β Don’t worry about the menu yet
We’ll create the pages first, then I’ll walk you through connecting them to the menu so that every button actually works.
For now, click X in the upper-left corner, then click Pages on the WordPress dashboard.
Send me a screenshot of what you see next, and I’ll give you the exact next click.
You’re in the right place. π The Welcome to the editor popup is covering the page.
Do this first
Click the X in the upper-right corner of the blue popup.
Then you’ll see:
- Add title at the top
- The blank page underneath
- The Publish button in the upper-right
We’re going to create the first page: About Us
After closing the popup:
- Click Add title
- Type:
About Us - Click underneath the title where it says Type / to choose a block
- Paste this:
Welcome to Tabernacle of Christ For All Nations
We are a place to worship, grow, connect, and serve.
Our mission is to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and help individuals and families grow in faith, love, and service.
Everyone is welcome.
Whether you are seeking God, looking for a church home, or simply want to learn more about Jesus Christ, we invite you to connect with us.
- Click Publish in the upper-right.
- If WordPress asks you to confirm, click Publish again.
Don’t create the other pages yet. We’ll do them one at a time so I can make sure each page is set up correctly and then connect the navigation.
Once you’ve published About Us, send me a screenshot and we’ll build Ministries next.
Excellent β About Us is now live. β
Let’s create the next page: Ministries.
Create the Ministries page
On the right side of your screen, click Add Page.
Then:
- In Add title, enter:
